LUCY STEWART – Festival Coordinator & Yoga Instructor
Lucy Stewart is from Guildford, England, but has lived, worked and studied in different parts of the world. With a background in PR and as a lover of many musical styles, Lucy is one of the founders of Ronda Guitar House and the coordinator of Ronda International Guitar Festival.
Her formation in eastern therapy started in Dublin, where she studied Holistic Massage and obtained an ITEC qualification. She then went to Thailand, where she studied Thai Massage at the “Wat Po” Buddhist temple complex in the Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok.
While in Seville, Spain, Lucy studied yoga for 2 years. Determined to discover the origins of the practice, she then travelled to India in 2005 to follow a course at the Dhanwantari Ashram in Neyyar Dam, Kerala. She studied yoga in the way of Swami Sivananda, through the traditions of Sivananda Vedanta and Swami Satyananda Saraswati, and obtained the internationally recognized diploma of “Yoga Siromani”. She also qualified in Ayurveda and Panchakarma, a body detoxifying treatment according to one of the world’s oldest systems of natural healing.
Lucy deepened her studies at the Rocklyn Satyananda Ashram in Victoria, Australia, where she was initiated. In 2008, Lucy went back to India where she certified in Yogic Studies 1 at the Bihar Yoga Bharati in Munger. She later obtained her certification in Yogic Studies 2 at the European Satyananda Yoga Academy in Bulgaria.
