SINAN AYYILDIZ is an internationally renowned Turkish musician and composer. He is highly admired for his mastery of the Şelpe technique
(without plectrum) on the traditional Anatolian Saz (Baglama). He was the founder of the Etni-ka and MESEL in 2006 and 2014 respectively. He has performed concerts for radio and television
programs worldwide. He was invited to participate in the Stereognosis project recordings in the USA, a collaboration of selected musicians from around the globe in 2011. He has produced three albums
and one single with these musical formations as a music director, arranger and performer. He completed his PhD on Music at İTÜ MIAM in Istanbul. Currently, Sinan is the Associate Professor and
Vice Dean at the Ankara Music and Fine Arts University and he is working on the production of his first solo album.
TOLGAHAN ÇOĞULU designed his “Adjustable Microtonal Guitar” in 2008 and was the first prize winner at the Georgia Tech Margaret Guthman Musical Instrument Competition in 2014 in Atlanta. He produced his first CD with microtonal guitar and “Atlas” was published in 2012 by Kalan Music. His microtonal and fretless guitar duo and lecture recital, “Microtonal Guitar Music”, has taken him to many festivals and universities in a remarkable 33 countries. Tolgahan is building an impressive repertoire for microtonal guitar using the works of more than forty composers. In 2013, he became an Associate Professor of Guitar at the İTÜ Conservatory of Music in Istanbul. He founded the classical guitar department in 2010 and the world’s first microtonal guitar department in 2014.
