IAN SCIONTI TRIO, USA/SPAIN/FRANCE - Jazz Flamenco
IAN SCIONTI flamenco guitar
JAVIER DELGADO double bass
ARNAUD CLERC percussion
Exploring the limits between jazz and flamenco, the Ian Scionti Trío establishes a natural and cohesive dialogue between the two musical traditions. The title of their debut album, “Campo Abierto” was created from the reflection and conflux of these musical genres and their linguistic evolution. A performance that crosses musical and cultural borders. Composed by Scionti, the repertoire is based on traditional flamenco styles and co-arrangements of classic hard-bop compositions. These are dissected, rearranged and then reassembled enabling the songs to transform and open for improvisation much like traditional Jazz. The Trío have played diverse international festivals including Jazz A’Védà - France, Eilersten & Granados Sommer Program - Norway, Dos Hermanas Jazz Festival - Spain, Jazz Alemtejo - Portugal, Jazz Gunung and Ubud Village Jazz Festival in Indonesia.
